Introducing Cooking Annie
6/28/2015
![]() Hello, my name is Annie Devlin. I live and breathe cooking and I’ve decided to bring my passion to others. I learned to cook through my grandmother. She taught me that cooking can be beneficial, aside from the obvious, if done right. Most people appreciate good food. A lot of people are altering their eating habits for health reasons causing them to settle for less than perfect tasting food. There is no reason to sacrifice flavor while striving for healthier meals. Natural, unprocessed foods work symbiotically when prepared properly. Unfortunately, our entire food supply is bombarded with antibiotics, salts, fats, and sugars far in excess of what our bodies need. The first step to cooking healthier is to cut back where you can on unnecessary additives. The simple act of removing the salt that many cooks add during meal preparation can reap tremendous health benefits. Instead of using salt, use savory. Savory is an herb that can be grown at home and can be found in the wild. Savory comes in several varieties so that there is a type available for all gardening zones. It can be grown in a container or in your yard. This one simple substitution can help you eliminate a third of your salt intake per year. My intent is to provide readers with recipes and articles that will help people cook better without sacrifice. I’m hoping to inform cooks of all levels the wide variety of benefits available from simple changes in methods and techniques. Hopefully, I’ll be able to introduce some new ideas along with reminding people of some old ones. Please, read, practice, and enjoy. Annie Devlin Comments are closed.
